August 2010 Part 2: Yankee Boy!

On the second day we decided to go to Yankee Boy Basin. We wanted to not drive as far and maybe get some hiking in as well. The road that we were taking was also rated Easy and this time we would see hikers, ATVers and Jeepers. I think we were the only 1 ton truck out there at the time. |

I asked Sasha to stay as close as possible to my side of the road as you can see why in the next picture. |

Town of Sneffels and the mine that made the town. Lots of tailings here, I have to wonder, the streams look great, but there must be heavy metals in those tailings, does the water need to be cleaned up before you drink it? |

We took the trail to Twin Falls, the water was definitely running high, lots of water. |
