We actually do not have a picture of where we
stayed when we went to Island Acres State Park. We got there in
the evening of October 3rd, a Tuesday, a day that I usually use
to work. So while I was working, Sasha did the laundry and
grocery shopping for the last time. We took hot showers and went
to bed. We had decided that we would go to Bangs Canyon in the
morning as our last camping in the Grand Junction area.
 |
This is our campsite of Bangs
Canyon - it is a staging area, where you would normally park.
But as there is no one here, we were able to camp. Great Blue
Skies! |

A little farther away view |

Sasha on the trail. This
trail was much more difficult than we thought it would be,
especially as it had more rocks. |
 |
This was one solid rock that
I was coming down |
 |
Again, a little closer - as
you can see, nothing for the tires to grip, just smooth solid
rock. |
 |
This is the trail when not on
solid rock. |
 |
Another picture of the trail. |
|
Ultimately we decided that the trail was a
little tough for us. We were glad we had done the order of
ATVing - Rabbit Valley, Grand Valley OHV, and then Bangs Canyon.
If I had seen this first, I might not have been as happy about
ATVing. |
 |
We left Bangs Canyon on
October 4th, but here is a view from the road before Bangs
Canyon. You can see Grand Junction sky. |
Check out the Next Day, Oh NO We have to start heading back, in
our South Route Back.
