October 2010: Family & Friends, Fun Times Ahead

We do not have any of these pictures with GPS, so no maps for them, but some interesting pictures. Check them out! We had more text than pictures, for some reason no pictures of some of the folks that we were with, oh well, at least we had some fun.

October 7th: So we went down to OBX - Outer Banks for those that do not know. Very close, relatively speaking from my first job in the NPS - at Cape Hatteras National Seashore. My parents bought a condo that is in Corolla, NC. Nice place with three bedrooms and three bathrooms (I think) and very nice style. While the water was already too cold to go in and the pools were closed, we did some walking on the beach.

And we got to see some old friends, Todd and Kimmie, who have this amazing house and business. His business uses a windmill for electricity and that electricity is also for their home (right across the street from the business.) They have a huge garden (makes me jealous, it is so fabulous!) and he does all of his own cooking. They use passive solar energy for their hot water heater and they have some type of system under the house for their water, it allows them to use that water for their landscaping. I should have taken pictures, if nothing else, with Todd and Kimmie, but we just did not. But we had a great time.

October 12th: Our Anniversary, 13 years of bliss. I wrote on Sasha's wall this: While it maybe Husband Week, but my husband is the best every day every week. I do not need a FB or Hallmark holiday to tell me, as my husband is my best friend, beloved, go-to-guy, help-me-get-to work guy, & traveler extraordinaire. He takes care of me, takes out the garbage, takes care that our truck & toys are running properly, & gives me good loving. I love you Sasha, you are the best, & Happy Anniversary to us, 13 years of bliss.

October 16 & 17th: We (along with my parents) watched the kids on the 16th and then we went to a play on the 17th with my sister and her family, a children's play but boy it was good. Really enjoyed the theatre, felt like I had a great cultural treat.

October 18th: Getting in the family time as much as possible, we then headed to Sasha's sister's house for a family time dinner. What was great was that Bo was there too, came in from Utah to be with family. He only had a little time off, but it was great to see him with the rest of the family.

October 20th: I went to Book Club. When we lived in a house, I was part of a great group of ladies, and seeing them again was great. We got someone to take a picture, and I will utimately post it here, but Catherine said: We really DO read at book club - and the book is the proof! We are reading the whole series of the "The Girl who..." books. Laura came in from her life on the road - and we had a good meal of Fish and Chips at our old favorite O'Faolain's Irish Pub. So a good time was had by all!

Unfortunately, when we were staying with Sasha's folks, he got a cold of some sort, I think because his parents also had a cold. I managed to not get it, but I was feeding Sasha gallons of Vitamin C, Chicken noodle soup with garlic and ginger and lots of water to wash it down. I think, that because of all the water that we were drinking, he got over his cold pretty fast and I never got it.

..

..

I will be putting in a picture or two shortly, just have to get them off of Facebook.

And in keeping with the page title, we spent a little time with Ally, our niece. She was on the water mostly, but at least we got to see her practice. She is really good:

And on October 29th, we went out to dinner with Sasha's Mom and Dad to Arties, in Fairfax. Yvonne was able to meet us as well and we had a nice dinner together.

So check out The RALLY, we came, we saw, we took tons of pictures. There are always tons, and Sasha even trimmed it down a bit, but there have got to be at least 30 pictures on that page. It might take a while to load, and you can click on the picture to enlarge it. I will only have a few with an Info Page, but there is no GPS. But it is in DC, no GPS needed.

Check out Next Month: November 2010 for pictures and for Expenses of November.
