There are a couple of days on this page. We had to do some errands on
September 26th. We would ultimately be boondocking for 14 days.

Our camp on September 25th. |
 |
Here is another picture of the setting
sun and our camp on September 25th. |
 |
We took a ride with our toys, to this
area where we could see the Colorado River on September 25th. It
was getting cool but the setting sun was beautiful. |
 |
Handsome Man! |
 |
This place has been a God-send for us, a
place for showers and laundry, where we can recharge and
rejuvenate for the next week. And because we bought a Colorado
State Park Pass the first day, we have gotten our money's worth.
And the park that you buy the pass gets most of the money. |
 |
This is the entrance to the best
campground ever. We boondocked here 14 days. And there was still
so much that we could have seen and done. |
 |
This picture was taken on September 26th,
our home away from home. Or our Home on the Range, whatever way
you want to call it - but we looked so little in the large
scheme of things. |
 |
This picture was taken September 27th as
we were getting ready to go hiking at McDonald Creek. |
 |
As you can see, my donkey and I are
loaded for hiking. |
 |
These pictographs were only a quarter of
a mile into the trail. I used the zoom capacity to really get in
close. |
 |
Here is another set of pictographs, you
might have to click on the picture to really see them. And how
did they get up there from where Sasha is standing - I'm not
sure, because there could not have been that much erosion in
1000 years. |
 |
Again, you will probably need to click on
the picture to really see it, but it is a historical date of
some visitor in 1899. |
 |
As you can see, there is not much shade
here. |
 |
This is the valley that we can out of,
and will go back to later |
 |
Here is a wall face that Sasha climbed up
to, we thought we saw a pictograph near there, but it was just
drippings of the earth above. The face of the wall goes even
higher, I just did not want Sasha looking like a speck on the
wall. |
 |
We got to the Colorado River but could
not touch it as it was very swampy and muddy. So we had to
content ourselves with having a snack on the railroad edge. I
was a little nervous as this area does get trains, but I did not
have to worry, none came by as we were having lunch. |
 |
Better Picture of the Colorado River |
 |
Sasha and the Colorado River, you can see
how the trees are starting to change color. |
 |
Look at those cliffs, that is where we
took the previous pictures on September 25th. |
|
We hiked out of the canyon after we had lunch
and managed to make it back before too late. Barb and Dale came
over to our campsite when we got back and asked us if we would
like to go out riding with them tomorrow. We had originally
thought to leave on Thursday, but one does not pass up an
opportunity to go riding with more experienced riders. So we
said yes, and the next pictures are of the different rides we
had with them. We went on two rides, one in the morning where we
went to Utah on the Kokopelli Trail, and the other one was on
several loop-de-dos (bumpy trails) and back out to look-out
point. |
 |
Here is Barb, Dale and Sasha next to one
of their ATVs. This is September 28th. |

The look out point with Tyson, Dale,
Barb, Sasha & Laura (slightly redone!)
We headed back after this, had dinner and went to bed happy and
more knowledgeable about how to use our toys - me especially,
Thank you Dale and Barb for an Excellent time! |
