Had to do some work first before we went out for a ride. Boondocking
can be a great adventure, but you have occasionally some chores.
 |
This picture was taken September 18th when we were doing the
work related stuff. As you can see, there is a new addition in
the back here, it is a Blue Tote. This blue tote holds 32
gallons, the biggest that they come. We have a black tank of 18
gallons and a gray tank of 22 gallons. Hmmm, can anyone guess
what I am thinking here? thankfully, neither tank was full so it
was not too bad. Also notice our shower blowing in the breeze.
We take outdoor showers so we do not fill the black tank. |
 |
We have not hooked it up yet |
 |
Here is Sasha draining the Nasty Part II. (we showed
pictures of him draining the nasty at a campground from a
previous trip.) I will not do this. Will Not. |
 |
September 20th Here is our campsite, we have now been
boondocking for 5 days. Our toys are just out there, because not
too many people come out this way and when they do, they go to
the official campsite called Rabbit Valley Campground. There
they have toilets, tables and fire rings. Here we have a smooth
ground. |
 |
Here is my Little Donkey, ready to ride. This Donkey will go
anywhere and likes to climb. |
 |
This is the trail that we will take. Sasha is ready and
raring to go. |
 |
This is just one of the views that we had, I called this The
Hand but there were no signs posted as to what it is called. |
 |
I got up closer to The Hand and Sasha took my picture |
 |
Then Sasha got closer to me, and I can't show you the next
picture... |
 |
This is the road that we were traveling on, I called this
picture Yikes! |
 |
This road is considered Easy by some, I call it Crazy and
double black. We did not go on this part of the trail,
thankfully there was a way around, which we took. |
 |
Here are some of the view that we saw. We did not go down to
this area as you can see in the next picture, the trail was
steep and the ground was sand. |
 |
This is the road not taken as it was full of sand. It kind
of reminded us of Havasupai and the trail we took then. |
 |
My shirt seems as blue as the sky. |
 |
This ended up being the end of the road for us, we turned
back after these pictures were taken. We did not feel justified
at going down or over further. We were taken to the best of our
abilities and we felt it was time to go back. I think that if
you go too far, you just might not come back. |
 |
On the way back we saw some cool hills and Sasha took my
picture. Even though the weather is warm, I wear that jacket for
protection and when we are cruising at 20 mpg, it can get cool. |
 |
I am going down a steep hill, I documented the hill in the
home page of Sasha going up, this is the hill that I am now
going down. |
 |
Beautiful scenery and Sasha the Expert |
 |
Love these rocks, they give shade or radiate heat as
necessary |
 |
Here I am getting comfortable with my ATV, I had just ridden
a hard road, done 4-wheel drive in Low and High and we are
headed back for lunch. |
 |
Up Close |
 |
We decided to take an evening ride after lunch and a nap. We
rode out around 6 pm, so the sun is starting to set. |
 |
Sasha thought that these were arches, but as we got closer,
we saw they were just cuts in the rock. |
 |
We went over the I-70 roads and went to the Dino mine. It
looks as though it has been cleaned out. But people still find
bones here. |
 |
Looking the other way. |
 |
No this is not a bone, but it looks like one from a distance |
That ends the amazing rides that we had, stay tuned for more when we
go back to the dinosaur mine and the trails through time.
Check out the Next Day, Dinosaurs! Checking out the dinosaurs in the
area.
