Saying good-bye is always hard to do....

Grand Junction Skyline - Good Bye Grand Junction
until next time! |
 |
Continental Divide It is cold up here. There was
no place for us to pull over, so I took this out the window. |
 |
Double Vision. The car was very bouncy, but the
picture is neat. No your eyes are not messed up, it is the
picture |
 |
Full Moon - this was the best shot I could get.
Considering that we were driving and it was taken out of the
front window, it did not come out that bad. |
 |
Bye Kansas, we hardly knew you! |
 |
Into Oklahoma |
 |
Oklahoma out the window |

Lots of Fenced Cows |
 |
We went into a town near Little Sahara State
Park. This town: Waynoka, OK allows ATVs and other off-road
vehicles to come into the town on their paved streets. So we
took this picture of the Sand Buggy parked next to the regular
car. |
 |
This sign says no ATVs on the road (which is
understandable as the speed limit is 45 mph, and most ATVs go
only that fast. |
 |
This is our site at Little Sahara State Park.
There were lots of people there this weekend as it is Columbus
Day Weekend. We got here on Saturday and people do Night Riding. |
 |
Here I am on the dunes. We tried taking Sasha's
Bike, but no go. It is just not safe. So we will take turns with
my little donkey. |
 |
Here I am going down this was taken on October
7th. |
 |
Here I am and as you see there are others behind
me. These pictures were taken on October 8th. We decided to get
more riding in on that Sunday. Most people were leaving on
Sunday, I guess Columbus Day is not taken off by most people in
Middle America, it probably is more of an East Coast type
holiday. |
 |
October 8th: Here is Sasha on the little Donkey. |
 |
We were watching some people jumping - they were
really good. Here is one guy that shows good form. |
 |
Here is a woman jumping with her ATV. |
 |
Even Sasha tried jumping. |
 |
A trick ATV jumper. We stayed until around 5:30
pm. We are going to try to make it to a Steak house in Oklahoma
City. We had gone to one when we had taken the southern route
with the Gray Jeep about 5 years ago - now that was a
great steak house. |
|
Unfortunately, the one we went to this time around was not very
good, although it was well represented in the search engines. It
was in the Stockyards of Oklahoma City. I had ordered filet
mignon and Sasha had ordered a Rib Eye. When the order came to
us (we were one of the last people seated, it was around 8:30-9
pm when we got there and the steaks came at 9:30 pm) the server
asked us to cut the steaks to make sure the inside was done
properly. Both of us looked at what they had served us, and let
me tell you, mine sure did not look like a $20 piece of meat.
And it was raw. I had ordered it medium. So of course, when you
cut into a steak, all the juices run out and not only will it be
overcooked, it will be dry. They took back our steaks to cook
them a bit longer but by this time we were famished. When they
came back, they were tough and over-cooked. At this point we
were a little pissed. We asked for the manager and we asked for
new steaks as these were inedible. However, this time around,
when the steaks came back, they looked like they were supposed
to, nicely flamed and perfectly done. Of course, it was 10 pm by
this time and I was past famished, so much so that I could only
eat about half of the steak. Sasha unfortunately, had major
indigestion, so he was not able to eat much of his steak either.
And this was supposed to be my birthday dinner. |
 |
October 8th: After dinner we drove for about 50 miles and
went to a truck stop, where we stayed underneath a sign. |

 |
October 9th: Stayed at a Wal-Mart in Brownsville,
TN |

 |
Water, Water Everywhere - this is somewhere in
Tennessee. A beautiful state with lots of trees and water. |

 |
October 10th: Boondocked at a Flying J in
Wytheville, VA |
