October 30, 2010: The RALLY

Normally I do not do just one day on a page, as that would be tough. I know some bloggers that can do a page a day, but that really is just not me. However, this day remains a very special day, as we went to the Jon Stewart Rally in Washington, DC. Huge crowds, lots going on, very peaceful rally without the hate. Lots of younger generation, kids, and really good music. I know that some of our friends were there, but never did see anyone but ourselves. Lots of costumes and people using the Metro. Lots of lines and it was a beautiful day. Also, to get an idea of the numbers, you can see it from the crowds and also this article.

Here are the pictures. If you want to enlarge them, just click on them. I have a few that have information as well, but again, no GPS.

The Rally

Just look at those crowds!

The Rally

Redneck coming into the Rally, what a waste of a nice truck.

The Rally

Why you have to die hard makes no sense to me...

The Rally

Thankfully, there were not too many people like this at the Rally, the rest of the signs were pretty good.

The Rally We were pretty far away from the stage, but the signs around were excellent...
The Rally I love it!
The Rally Beautiful Blue Skies too!
The Rally And the crossing signs kept being green and red. But as you can see, the place was packed!
The Rally This one is for Brenden, because he was a Zombie Hunter for Halloween this year!
The Rally Absolutely packed! And as you may notice, lots of people below the 65 year old mark. Young, Educated, enjoying the beautiful day, with mostly smiles on their faces.

..

..

The Rally Lots of news crews out, and although there were several huge screens, we could not see very much. It did not really matter.

Muslims = Not Scary

Voldemort = Scary

The Rally So true!
The Rally Again, the huge crowds! All the way to the Capitol.
The Rally People are climbing everything to get up and see the stage.
The Rally It was so crowded, they brought in crowd control in the form of cool horses. I think these were park service people too.
The Rally These horses were BIG - and people were getting a little too close for comfort. Thankfully, the police were good at handling them and the horses were calm. I guess they have been trained to be so. But really cool to see.
The Rally

Love this one too.

The Rally And the person holding this sign, was dressed like a bear...
The Rally Yes, comparing the president to Hitler, not a good scene - but what I really like about this shot is the Washington Monument in the background.
The Rally You really want to enlarge this one, the writing underneath is priceless. As a matter of fact, here is the page link too. ===>
The Rally I'm impressed, they even had some t-shirts made up!
The Rally Two signs with one shot, the really tall one says This sign is too Tall, and the other says We Want BEER
The Rally

And of course, lots of people were dressing up. Anyone know what the smiley face really is (I know as I have nieces and nephews...:)

So only an hour had past since the first shot...

As this page will take a while to load, I figured it would be a good idea to break up the pages so we have a second page of The RALLY. However, this page is even longer than the first, so it will take a while to upload.
