Wine Tasting in Palisade, then Riding in Rabbit Valley
Tasted Most of the Grand Valley & Colorado, then managed to wake up & go Riding!
Saturday, September 16th and Sunday, September 17th

On Saturday, we went to the Colorado Wine Festival. They had many of the wines from all over Colorado at the festival; I could not sample them all (although I tried!) Lots of great wines to be had. Sasha did not drink, but still managed to have some fun:

Found this old car at one of the wine tasting booths
He's become the gear head
Our Site and clear skies on September 17th. We went for a ride (3.5 hours) on Sunday morning and afternoon. The weather was perfect. And not a cloud in the sky.
Again our views from the campsite. You may notice the highway in the far background.
Here I am on my "Little Donkey"
Here I am a little closer with great views
Salt Creek and the overlook
Our Toys
My Boy Toy - excuse me - my Man and his toy
The Expert and the Colorado River - We are about 2,000 feet above the Colorado River.
Closer view of the Colorado River and Sasha with his helmet on.
Me and the Colorado River at a really cool overlook.
We were playing with the timer from my camera and managed to get this picture.
Sasha found this stone chair on an overlook that was not on the map. The road was not very easy so one could imagine someone sitting here with the fire at their feet looking out to the Colorado River and watching the boat go past.
This is the view you see from the chair

And below, I am going up a semi-steep hill and Sasha took this when he was at the top. I was in 4-wheel Drive, high. I definitely have more confidence on this rig than on a motorcycle. Slowing down is pretty easy, hardly have to use the brake, just stop pushing the button.

Once we came back from the ride, we read for a while, then Sasha went out with my Little Donkey and found some wood, which he brought back. We will have a nice fire tomorrow night. Took outdoor showers today, have to take them a little earlier, I was cold as the sun had gone down. We had a nice dinner and we will go for a ride tomorrow, then go to a Dinosaur "Walk through Time" hike that is located right across I-70.

Good night all and we will have more pictures tomorrow.

Check out the Next Day, Rides and Trails - really taking ATV and motorbike for a ride.
